Thermospas taking advantage of The Arthritis Foundation

I just wanted to do everything I can to put it out there that Thermospas(a hot tub company based out of Wallingford,CT) has been using The Arthritis Foundation's name in their sales pitches and advertisements to scam people with disabillities into buying their hot tubs then not honoring their warranties. We purchased a hot tub from them 2 years ago for our son as hydrotherapy for his SJIA. The sole reason we went with them and paid top dollar was because of their "endorsement from The Arthritis Foundation" which we later found out was not true. The tub has not worked practically since the day we got it and the company has been completely ignoring us. An inside source from the company e-mailed me and told me that they plan on continuing to sell as much as they can before running the business into the ground and filing bankruptcy so hat they don't have to honor their warranties. I'm assuming that's why they are also ignoring The Foundation's requests to stop using their name in advertisements. I've filed a complaint with the BBB and contacted the Attny General. I've also tried contacting the media in CT, but got nothing but smart a** comments from ignorant people who assume that we just want to "party" in our luxury item. I figure that someone on this site will understand and will have some input as to what we can do about this. If anyone out there feels as strongly as I do about these scum bags at this company please join me in my effort to expose them for what they really are before they take advantage of someone else. Systemic JIA and frequent nose bleeds

My son was diagnosed with Systemic JIA around 3 years ago when he was hospitalized in the ICU for severe poyserositis. He apparently had an extreme case and ended up very sick from the onset. Then the severe joint pain followed. The strange thing is, he has never really had a lot of swelling, but the pain was debilitating. It has been 3 years now and although he always wakes up stiff and there is a fine line between too little exercise and too much exercise he is doing pretty well. He has even been able to get back into sports. I was just wondering, he gets these frequent, heavy nose bleeds that seem to coincide with his joint pain. Has anyone had this happen?? I'm just wondering if there could be a corelation??

How to change the font size of your post?

[size=2]Anyone having trouble changing the font size of your post please refer to the IFCode list on the text editor located next to the insert quote icon after the bold,italic and underline buttons. If you click on that IFCode link you get a pop up of IFcode and how they are used to format the text. It's basically code that has open and close tags. Closed tags should always be at the end of your post- they have the forward slash at the beginning.One thing to note about the tagging that can be a pain, is that you can't just select the font or size options without highlighting the text you want to change. This will show up in your post if there is no text in between.[/size][font=Tahoma][/font][size=4][/size]Note: if you add one space between the tags it will not appear because it takes that space as an element to format. A good rule of thumb is to preview your post to make sure its formatted the way you want it before posting.

Problems updating signature

2nd Dose of MTX

[size=3][/size]So, I took my second dose (4 tabs) of the Methotrexate today. Wish me luck, I'm praying this will be my miracle drug and I will be able to function as if I didn't have RA in the near future. I will take 6 tabs starting Christmas day. I'm still on the Prednisone, anyone know how long after the MTX is on board, I can start weening off of the Prednisone ? I'm almost feeling like my normal self again. I'm able to walk on my treadmill and function at work. Before the meds, I was in excrutiating pain and terrified that this was to be my daily existance. I'm feeling strong enough to tell RA to "Suck It !"

MXT and Anemia???

I have been taking MXT injections (up to 20 ml) along with Plaquenil 200 mg for 5 months...it has definitely helped calm down the swelling in my finger joints, neck and feet...so much better...however, I go for almost weekly blood work and my counts have dropped considerably...when I started my hemoglobin was 11.2 and mt hematocrit 36.2...for the last 7 weeks it has continued to slowly drop...I am now at hemoglobin 10.3 and hematocrit at 31.3..my rheumatologist had me stop the MXT two times in this course,... but now I have been back on it and he is now sending me to a Hematologist..he said he is not quite sure what is going on..as I show great improvement with the RA (less pain and swelling ) but the anemia continues...he did give me a series of B-12 shots and has me on Tron supplements, which i can only take every other day because of the severe affect it has on my intestines...SO my question is...has anyone else experience anemia while being treated with MXT???also..does anyone experience extreme nausea and fatigue after having their MXT injection??? I didn't in the beginning..but boy oh boy, it has gotten a bit awful...any suggestions to take away nausea?any thoughts would be so greatly appreciated.

Hi my name Is Nicky i am 48 years old and i was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 4 years ago, it has affected my feet the most, very hard to walk. I was on methotrexate for 4 years and recently had to come off due to problems with my diverticulitis, my ra doctor wants to put me on Leflunomide 20mg every second day, i am very concerned about this drug reading that it stays into your system for up to two years that it can elevate blood pressure that it can produce hair loss which really really worries me, i know its vain but i love my hair:P, and that it can damage my liver, that it can give diahrea with my diverticulitis all of this is a major concern to me, anyone that can help me with these concerns would be greatly appreciated:)

Osteo Arthritis in both hips with bricitis

I was diagnosed with bricitis and osteo arthritis in both of my hips. The last couple times I have tried to post, I hit the reply button, which gets me to the appropriate response screen. I hit the post button, and I get the message that says my post is active. But then it hasn't shown up. Yesterday I successfully posted to one topic, but had the error with the other. A couple days earlier tried to respond to two posts, and the same thing happened.

Profile issues migrating to new platform

We migrated the site to the new platform after 6:30pm Wednesday. The issue was reported to our developers early Thursday and resolved Thursday evening. No user settings were changed as part of the migration.What happened was that for users whose setting was private, the new public user profile page was not respecting their privacy setting as it should have. The last 3 times I have attempted to respond to a topic-I laboriously enter my message and the post is not accepted. It says you must have text in the message. I have NOTHING BUT TEXT! in the post. (Sorry, I know all caps is yelling, I am sooooo frustrated!)For those of us with hand/wrist/finger impairments, just entering my msg once is a daunting task.
