Both my hubby and I have a summer cold here in HOT Texas.....so I'm congested, coughing, not feeling too good!  Just finished making homemade chicken noodle soup....comfort food for us.....should definitely help.   Plus, my fingers and ankles are stiff

How are you feeling?  What are you doing?

Take care.

Txnana,

This is fun.  I hope you get lots of responses.

I'm sorry you and your hubby are feeling poorly.  My dear husband and I both have different autoimmune diseases.  Between the hot humid weather and the thunderstorms here in NC, we're both flaring right now.  So, he's taking a long nap.  Meanwhile, I'm watching a cake decorating challenge on the Food Network.

I hope you'll both feel better soon.

Take Care,

Pam

Txnana, I'm sorry that both you and hubby are down with colds.  It's a shame that you had to make the soup.  It would have been nice to have someone make it for you since you're under the weather.  Oh well, I hope it does both of your bodies good.

Pam, sorry that you and your DH are flaring.  This humid summer weather with storms is really hard on joints.  I'm feeling the same in Nashville, believe me.  Ah well, it will be over before we know it, and then the complaining will start about the weather being too cold! lol    I figure that as long as I'm upright and mobile, I'm doing pretty well.  Your Resilience posts show that you feel the same.

God bless to all,

Robin

Oh, that's a bummer!  Summer colds are the worst with the heat and all.  I sure hope they pass quickly for you.  I've had a sore throat for about a week.  I went to the doctor today thinking it was mtx induced.  He said no - looks like sinuses.  That's an easier fix anyway.  We've been so blessed this summer here in the Midwest.  Usually July is very hot and humid and we had a wonderful month - with temps in the upper 70s and 80s.  That's unheard of and I've really enjoyed it.  They're predicting a heat wave this weekend - but it should be short lived.  Hope so.  Now we've got three family birthdays to celebrate in August and one is my aunt's 90th birthday!  I'm looking so forward to that celebration and seeing my cousins who are spread out over the country and coming in for the celebration.  Pam - oh, my!  Chocolate cake is my weakness!!!!  Hope everyone else is able to enjoy these summer days.  Pam

Sleep well!

Well sounds like a lot of us are flaring lately! I know here in Florida we have been having thunderstorms pretty much daily for the last couple of weeks. Some servere some not so bad. Mostly been having neck pain and headaches here. Thinking both are due to the rain. Could be worse though.

Last week I burned my finger at work, wed nights we have breakfast at work. I decided to go and get some grits. Well some of them dripped off the spoon and feel on my thumb. Needless to say I managed to get a first degree burn. Lucky for me since I did get it in ice fast and kept it there for a good 10 hours it didn't blister and it didn't get infected so I got lucky. Sure did hurt like heck for a couple days though.

So not too much else going on here besides waiting on my boyfriend to return from Iraq. The countdown is now 5 weeks, it has been almost six months now. So you could say we are both very excited for the next five weeks to speed by! He also has arthritis but can't really get any real treatment til he is out of the service. Not really sure even which type he has yet. They have already told him he needs knee replacements but again that can not be done til he is out of the military. Or so he has been told. They have lost his medical records so many times already it's not even funny. Oh well enough ranting lol! Cake and cup cakes do look yummy! Hope you guys are having a great night!

Hi Keli.....I was not aware that your boyfriend is serving in Iraq.  May God protect and bless him and the others in harms way!  We owe so much to our brave military people.   I hope and pray that he will receive excellent care for his arthritis.  Please keep us posted!

I'm sorry about your burn.   And yes, a lot of us are flaring!   Where do you work?

I just finished my second cup of coffee and an English muffin with natural peanut butter; read my daily scriptures; read the newspaper; took my morning meds; now off to rest    Gotta lick this summer cold    And the cupcakes were delicious, Pam!!!!

How are you feeling??   What are you doing??

Take care.

Nana I hope you and hubby get well soon...I hate summer colds! Poor Ken usually gets a summer type of allergic cold, but so far it's not been too bad. ALL that CHOCCIE stuff is making me hungry...

I have been craving Wedding Cake! Wish I knew where I could crash a wedding..LOL...We've been sweet indulging in the mornings with Apple and Strawberry Toaster Struedal..YUMMSKI...Kitty has been having peanut butter fits...She's so strange!

Keli, I didn't know about your boyfriend in Iraq...I'm praying for his safe return..We just had a Navy friend ship off to Afghanistan after a reunion with his two oldest sons whom have been estranged from him, and the oldest boy just joined the forces as well...Let's pray they all come home and this ends soon!..

ROBIN...LOL..No calories..RIGHT you are!..The ones I wish away find me no matter how hard I wish them away...However, I did lose another 10 pounds from my last visit, so altogether I think I've lost a total of 28 lbs since the beginning because I'd lost and gained twice...This is a YO YO thing for me....

YAY this is a fun thread!

Things are going well for me... Vacation was amazing, but the past two weeks I've had to really settle down and get back to the daily grind with work. This week started picking up though, which is good (I needed it to).

Funny you mention having a summer cold! I had my pneumonia vaccine last week, so of course now I'm running around with the sniffles and a cough. Nothing too bad though And it gives me an excuse to work in bed

Tomorrow is my mom's 65th birthday!!! I'm going to bake her a cake (because of the previous posts, I'm thinking it will have to be chocolate.... and raspberry... and buttercream icing). For her present, I'm getting her a facial and massage at the spa next week, and helping her paint her bedroom. She's nervous about me helping paint because she doesn't want me to hurt my wrists, but I told her to shove it because she's in a bigger flare than me haha

Good news is my mom went to MY Rhuematologist this past Thursday, and she looooved her. Now she'll be starting Orencia instead of Ruxitan, and I hope it works for her I hate seeing my mommy in so much pain!

As for how I feel? I hate to jinx it, but I feel amazing.... there are still "the days".... days I feel slightly stiff, and I have a new sensation in my wrists and ankles where it feels almost like electric sparks going through them when they hurt. But they don't hurt bad at all.... really NOTHING in comparison to what I was feeling before. And most days I feel COMPLETELY normal (no limping, no braces on my wrists, no tears). And it's only been 5 weeks on the medication!!!! WOO HOO!!! Cheers to catching this monster early and teaching it some new tricks! ("play dead").

And because I feel so good, last night (for the first night in MONTHS), I was able to make a full dinner by myself (usually my husband cooks when I'm hurting so I don't have to push myself). I made Baked Orange Roughy with a citrus dill butter sauce, Citrus summer vegetables, and coconut mousse with fresh papaya for dessert. It was FABULOUS and I was so proud!

That's about it with me... hope everyone has a GREAT WEEKEND!!!!
